The Alpha 1 update adds 8K 4:2:2 10-bit recording capability, among other enhancements.

Sony Electronics, Inc., has announced firmware updates for its Alpha 1 and Alpha 7S III full-frame mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras.


For the Alpha 1, v1.3 adds 8K 4:2:2 10-bit recording capability, as well as Lossless Compressed Raw capability for still images in small, medium or large file sizes. With Alpha 1 v1.3, users can freely combine JPEG and their choice of Lossless Compressed Raw sizes based on their use case. 


For the Alpha 7S III, the v2.1 update introduces proxy recording during remote computer connect and improvements to Eye AF performance, among other enhancements.
