B&H Photo has launched the Payboo Card, a credit card that immediately saves customers the equivalent of sales tax paid on all B&H purchases.

Customers who use Payboo for an order will receive an instant reward equal to the sales tax paid on that order. B&H will collect and remit the sales tax to the applicable state.

For example, when a customer in Los Angeles buys a $3,000 camera, a 9.5-percent sales tax, or $285, is added to the cost for a total of $3,285. However, if the same customer purchases the camera from B&H using the Payboo Card, a $285 reward is instantly applied to the order and only $3,000 is charged to the card.

“B&H has always believed that if we treat customers right, they will come back,” says B&H Photo CEO Menashe Horowitz. “The Payboo Card reflects our commitment to provide customers not only with incredible service and products, but also unique savings. This is a common-sense way for us to help our customers save money as they’ve come to expect when shopping at B&H.”

Until recently, most online retailers were not required to collect and remit sales tax on out-of-state sales. However, in June 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that states could require out-of-state sellers to collect sales tax on such transactions. The states that have not already implemented this ruling are expected to do so by the end of this year.

Subject to credit approval, B&H’s Payboo Card is free and available to individuals with a U.S. billing address. A few states require an alternate version of Payboo’s instant-savings offer; orders shipped to those states are eligible for an instant-reward value based on their delivery zip code.
